MERLIN

The pilot's watch rediscovered.

The Merlin is our second collaboration with The Urban Gentry. This time, we wanted to refine and redefine the pilot's watch. Though watch aficionados are already quite familiar with Fliegers, the same can't be said for those worn by Allied Air Forces. Notable examples include "Weems" watches, named after their creator, U.S. Navy Officer P.V.H. Weems. Among the first to feature rotating bezels, they proved essential in flight navigation.

The Merlin is our version of this indispensable instrument. Just like the Spitfire engine that gave the Merlin its name, it's built for high-flying adventures. And with its classically handsome looks, it'll do it all with panache.

A NEW CLASSIC

The Merlin's magic is in its conjunction of utility and elegance. Its case features bold lugs, two big crowns, and a fully-indexed stainless steel bezel, while its heat-blued hands, red highlights, and creamy dial give it more than a touch of refinement.

The deerskin strap, while already soft and supple out of the box, will wear like a dream once fully broken-in. Because it's single-pass, it will protect the wearer from the rare case of springbar failure.

Put simply, the Merlin is made for those who make no compromises between substance and style.

OLD-SCHOOL COOL

Just like its forebears, the Merlin sports a Hesalite crystal. It's stood the test of time on the wrists of explorers, mountaineers, divers, and even astronauts. It has a distinct clarity and charm sapphire just can't replicate.

Afraid of scratches? The Merlin includes a Polywatch tube and polishing cloth to keep it looking like new.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT

The Merlin uses Old Radium Superluminova on its hands and markers. On the dial, the luminous compound is 3D printed at a thickness of 0.3mm to make for easy reading in low-light conditions.

READY FOR ACTION

Ticking inside the Merlin is the 90S5, a no-date variant of Miyota's 9 series premium automatics.

It offers a combination of thinness, reliability, and accuracy unlike any other movement on the market.

SPECIALLY MARKED

As a limited edition, the Merlin's caseback is a departure from the standard Lorier design. It features the Gentry Labs logo in a simple, utilitarian marking. Reference numbers and specs are a callback to military-issue casebacks.
