The archetypal GMT.
Distinction is in the details. The Bakelite-esque Air Force blue and burgundy bezel, the chapter ring circling the minute track, the gilt print, and the roulette datewheel make it feel like the Hyperion came straight out of a time machine.
New to Series II is the 5-link Epsilon bracelet. Flat-link and fully brushed, it gives an elevated look without being too flashy. Additionally, we made small, but impactful changes integrating owner feedback from previous generations: slightly shortened lugs, repositioned lug holes (minimizing the gap when worn with a 2-piece strap), and more distinct hour and minute hands. The lumed bezel insert is made of a new polymer for easier maintenance.

A NEW CLASSIC
There’s something to be said about the swagger of a GMT. Born in the Jet Age, it's got history behind it, an international mystique.
With the Hyperion, our goal was to realize a GMT watch that went back to its roots as a flight instrument from a more elegant age: sophisticated, yet unpretentious, refined, yet utilitarian.
Shown further down on a 6 in. wrist.
Just like its forebears, the Hyperion sports a Hesalite crystal. It's stood the test of time on the wrists of explorers, pilots, and astronauts. It has a distinct clarity and charm sapphire just can't replicate.
Afraid of scratches? The Hyperion includes a Polywatch tube and polishing cloth to keep it looking like new.
The Hyperion offers superior low-light visibility, differentiating between time zones via luminous pigments. The dial markers, hour, minute and seconds hands use bright blue BGW9, while the 24-hour bezel and GMT hand use green C3.
READY FOR ACTION
Inside the Hyperion ticks the Soprod C125. Its thinness enables the Hyperion to be one of the thinnest GMT watches on the market with a case height of only 8.3mm.
Additionally, it has a quickset 24-hour hand, as opposed to the slaved GMT hands on the original Rolex GMT-Masters. This allows for more flexibility in tracking a second time zone.
← DESIGN NOTES →
Not only for pilots, the GMT proved to be a versatile complication adopted by all kinds of people who had one thing in common: they had places to go and things to do.
From left to right:
Dizzy Gillespie, Chuck Yeager, Honor Blackman, all wearing Rolex ref. 6542
A classic GMT needs a “Pepsi” bezel, because it’s such a sharp and useful way to juxtapose daylight and nighttime hours. Though in darkening the shades of blue and red, we sought to give the Hyperion a dressier yet more versatile look.
Design changes to Series II combine practical and aesthetic updates.
The hour and minute hands have been redesigned to be more distinct, making for better low-light legibility.
Series II sports a shorter lug length (46mm, down from 47mm). The new 24-click bezel has improved rotating action as well as a new polymer insert that's easier to maintain.
A watch is a companion, a talisman that reflects its wearer's personality, history, and memories. Make your mark with a special message, dedication, or monogram.
Easily resize the bracelet and find the perfect fit with the screwdriver. Take it anywhere with the convenient travel pouch. And for further down the road, a Polywatch tube and polishing cloth will be there to buff out crystal scratches within seconds.
